Join the Nanny Bears Family – Third in Charge Practitioner
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Third in Charge Practitioner to join the Nanny Bears family.
At Nanny Bears, we recruit our team based on values, attitudes and a genuine passion for early years. We want our nurseries to be made up of positive, like-minded individuals who understand the importance of creating a warm, nurturing and inspiring environment for every child.
Our settings are professional but relaxed, sociable and welcoming. We want every member of our team to feel valued, respected and supported, while building strong relationships with colleagues, children and families.
The Role
This is a 40-hour-per-week position, working 8 hours per day across 5 days.
As Third in Charge, you will be an important part of the nursery's leadership team, working closely with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager to support the smooth day-to-day running of the setting.
Alongside being an inspiring Early Years Practitioner, you will help to lead by example, support other members of the team and maintain consistently high standards of care, safeguarding and early years practice.
You will receive a comprehensive induction and ongoing support to help you develop, progress and flourish within your role.
Most importantly, you will embrace the Nanny Bears ethos of caring for each child as if they were one of our own, helping us provide a nurturing home-from-home environment where children are encouraged to develop their confidence, individuality and love of learning.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing consistently high-quality care and learning experiences for children.
- Supporting the Manager and Deputy Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery.
- Acting as a positive role model and helping to support, motivate and guide the wider team.
- Helping to maintain high standards across safeguarding, health and safety, routines and nursery practice.
- Supporting the delivery of the EYFS and ensuring children's individual development and interests are recognised.
- Planning and delivering engaging, creative and meaningful activities.
- Building strong and positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
- Taking additional responsibility within the setting when required and confidently supporting the leadership team.
What We're Looking For
You will:
- Hold a full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years.
- Be an inspiring and confident practitioner with a strong understanding of child development.
- Have a good working knowledge of the EYFS framework and be confident supporting others in its delivery.
- Have a strong understanding of safeguarding practice and responsibilities.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be confident in taking responsibility and leading by example.
- Ideally have previous experience in a Senior Practitioner, Third in Charge or similar role.
- Be a supportive team player who enjoys being part of a close-knit nursery family.
- Be organised, proactive and able to use your own initiative.
- Be creative and enthusiastic when developing activities and experiences for children.
- Above all, be positive, approachable and passionate about working with children.
