Overview
Our client is recruiting for what is effectively a Registered Manager position, but they are open to considering an experienced Deputy Manager who is ready to step up into an RM role.
The successful candidate must already have substantial management responsibility within an Ofsted-regulated children’s home and be capable of progressing into registration.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Deputy Manager within an Ofsted-regulated children’s residential home (formal Deputy title preferred).
- Experience supporting children and young people aged 10–17
- .Experience working within an EBD setting
- Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification (or client-accepted equivalent).
- Working towards or holding the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England).
- Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
- Experience leading shifts and managing staff.
- Highly Desirable
- Previous involvement in Ofsted inspections.
- Experience contributing to Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 processes.
- Staff supervision and performance management.
- Recruitment and interviewing.
- Safeguarding investigations.
- Risk assessments and care planning.
- Multi-agency working (Local Authorities, IROs, CAMHS, Ofsted).
- Rota management and quality assurance.
- Budget management.
- Experience preparing homes for inspection.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced Deputy Manager already operating at a high level within an Ofsted-regulated children’s home, with the confidence, leadership skills and regulatory knowledge to transition into a Registered Manager position in the near future.
Pay: £24,420.00-£60,000.00 per year
