Glasgow is home to a growing network of engineering, infrastructure, and construction businesses, and at E Babtain Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd, we support complex projects with accurate planning, reliable reporting, and strong commercial control.
We are looking for a Project Controls Analyst who can help project teams monitor schedules, costs, risks, and overall performance. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure project information is accurate, timely, and useful for decision-making.
Why Work With Us?
The Environment:
Our Glasgow office provides a professional and collaborative working environment where project teams can communicate clearly, solve problems, and deliver work efficiently.
Meaningful Projects:
You will support engineering and infrastructure projects with clear deliverables, measurable milestones, and visible business impact.
Established Processes:
We use structured project controls methods, standard reporting templates, and recognised planning tools to maintain consistency across projects.
Career Development:
You will receive opportunities to strengthen your skills in scheduling, cost control, forecasting, risk analysis, and project reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Scheduling:
Support the development and maintenance of project schedules, milestones, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
Cost Monitoring:
Track project expenditure, committed costs, forecasts, and budget performance. Identify and report significant cost variances.
Performance Reporting:
Prepare weekly and monthly project reports covering schedule progress, financial performance, risks, issues, and corrective actions.
Data Analysis:
Review project data to identify trends, delays, cost pressures, and areas requiring management attention.
Risk and Change Control:
Maintain project risk registers, change logs, action trackers, and supporting documentation.
Forecasting:
Assist with cost forecasts, resource projections, completion estimates, and project performance updates.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Work with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, contractors, and finance colleagues to collect and validate project information.
Process Improvement:
Recommend practical improvements to project controls processes, reporting methods, and data quality.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in project controls, project planning, cost control, project coordination, or a related role within engineering, construction, infrastructure, utilities, or technical services.
Technical Skills:
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and project reporting tools. Experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Power BI, or similar systems would be beneficial.
Analytical Ability:
You can interpret schedules, budgets, forecasts, and performance data and present findings clearly.
Communication Skills:
You can communicate confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders and produce clear written reports.
Organisation:
You are comfortable managing several deadlines, reporting requirements, and project information sources at the same time.
Mindset:
You are accurate, practical, commercially aware, and willing to investigate inconsistencies rather than simply report them.
Pay: £2,529.00-£2,800.00 per month
