Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- Help with medication management as per care plans
- Prepare and serve meals, adhering to dietary requirements
- Light domestic duties including laundry, cleaning, and organising the home environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns or changes in health status
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Use IT systems for documentation and updating care plans as required
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow specified procedures accurately
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and documentation purposes
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting clients or running errands
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families
