Full job description
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Part Time Branch Assistant / Driver to join our busy branch in Barnham, two days a week.
This role would suit someone who enjoys staying active, working as part of a small team and providing excellent service to customers. Experience in a trade counter, warehouse or delivery environment would be useful, but the most important thing is a great can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
The role:
As a Branch Assistant / Driver, you will help keep the branch running smoothly by supporting customers with their orders, assisting with deliveries, helping with stock and working with the team to maintain high standards throughout the trade counter and warehouse. You will be driving a large van as part of the role. Deliveries will consist of large windows and doors with separate glass units. Regular manual handling of large, sometimes fragile items is a key part of your role.
Key responsibilities:
· Unloading delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
· Assisting customers with picking and loading their orders.
· Helping to pick, prepare and load customer collections and deliveries.
· Supporting the team with general branch, warehouse and trade counter duties.
· Keeping the branch clean, tidy, safe and well organised.
· Providing friendly and helpful customer service at all times.
You:
· Must hold a full, clean standard UK driving licence.
· Must be eligible to be insured on company vehicles – delivery vehicle is a large van.
· Has a positive, can-do attitude.
· Is willing to learn and get stuck in wherever needed.
· Enjoys working with customers and supporting colleagues.
· Is reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a small team.
· You are comfortable with physical work and manual handling
Experience driving a large van and handling building materials would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
Working hours and pay:
· 2 days per week: Monday and Thursday.
· 7.00am to 5.00pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.
· Pay: £13.71 per hour.
