Elmswell Tavern is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and community-minded General Manager to lead our pub and help us make it the heart of village life.
Situated in the heart of Elmswell, Suffolk, the Tavern is more than just a pub. It is a place where villagers meet, friends catch up, families spend time together and the local community comes together.
As a community-run pub, we are passionate about protecting and developing the Tavern as an important part of village life, while ensuring it remains a successful, sustainable and welcoming business for the future.
We are now looking for the right person to help us achieve that ambition.
About the role
As General Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running and overall performance of Elmswell Tavern.
Working closely with the Tavern Management Team, you will provide the leadership, energy and ideas needed to develop the pub and deliver an excellent experience for our customers.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being at the centre of a busy pub, leading a team, meeting customers and getting involved in the life of the village.
About you
We're looking for someone with energy, personality and a genuine passion for pubs and people.
You will ideally have previous experience in hospitality management, whether as a General Manager, Pub Manager, Restaurant Manager or in a similar role.
Most importantly, you will understand what makes a village pub special. You will be commercially minded enough to run a successful business, but community-minded enough to understand that Elmswell Tavern has an important role beyond simply serving food and drink.
You'll be someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships, creating a great atmosphere and becoming part of the local community.
