Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver for DPD to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering parcels efficiently and safely across designated routes. Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver parcels to customers within specified timeframes
- Plan efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and in good condition
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times or issues
- Assist with loading and unloading parcels, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Complete all required documentation accurately, including delivery logs and receipts
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations during daily operations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably within a commercial or warehouse environment
- Valid full UK driver licence
- Experience with commercial driving vehicles such as vans is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling parcels or equipment
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Good organisational skills to manage routes efficiently and meet deadlines
- Prior warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
