About the Role
We are looking for an organised, proactive, and professional Private Medical Administrator to join our busy and friendly team. This is a hybrid role offering a combination of office and home working, providing an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and customer service skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.As the first point of contact for patients, consultants, and healthcare professionals, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our private medical service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage incoming telephone calls, providing a professional and empathetic service to patients families
- Respond promptly and efficiently to emails and online enquiries.
- Coordinate and support daily clinical activity, ensuring clinics run smoothly.
- Schedule, amend and confirm patient appointments.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update clinical systems.
- Liaise with consultants, clinical staff, insurers and external organisations.
- Process referrals, correspondence and clinical documentation.
- Ensure all administrative tasks are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Support the wider administration team with general office duties as required.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with GDPR and information governance requirements.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a medical, healthcare or private practice administration role (desirable).
- Experience of medical practice management system such as Carebit, DGL
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- A professional, patient-focused approach.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and patient management systems.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A positive, flexible and proactive attitude.
