Join a Growing Manufacturing Business Where No Two Days Are the Same
Fuscina Ltd is a specialist manufacturer of high-quality fabricated steel products for both commercial and domestic customers. We design and manufacture a diverse range of products including furniture frames and bases, fire pits, seating, bespoke furniture, and components for playground and outdoor play equipment.
Alongside our fabrication workshop, we operate an in-house powder coating facility, prepare and finish timber products, and manufacture rope and net components for our play equipment division. We also undertake fabrication and finishing work for a range of external businesses, making this a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.
We take pride in producing well-made, high-quality products, and we're looking for someone who shares our commitment to craftsmanship, attention to detail and delivering work to a high standard.
We're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Welder / Fabricator to become an important member of our workshop team. This is far more than a traditional welding role. You'll work across a variety of manufacturing processes, helping to produce high-quality products while developing a broad range of practical skills within a growing business.
The Role
Working alongside our Workshop Manager, you will be involved in the manufacture of a wide variety of products from initial fabrication through to finishing and final assembly. As your experience grows, you'll become a trusted member of the team, capable of supporting the day-to-day running of the workshop and providing cover when required.
Key Responsibilities
- MIG welding of mild steel products.
- Fabricating furniture frames, table bases, fire pits, seating and bespoke fabricated products.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Operating fabrication equipment, hand tools and workshop machinery safely.
- Preparing fabricated products for powder coating.
- Assisting with our in-house powder coating process when required.
- Preparing and finishing timber components, including sanding and resin infill of hardwood slabs.
- Assisting in the manufacture of rope and net products using specialist machinery.
- Supporting final assembly, quality control and packaging of finished products.
- Helping maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop.
- Assisting with basic workshop paperwork and occasional customer specifications.
- Supporting production planning and providing workshop cover when required.
- As a small team, everyone supports each other when needed. This may occasionally include assisting with basic office duties and customer enquiries during staff absences.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, takes pride in producing high-quality products and is keen to become an important member of a small, supportive team.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience in MIG welding (TIG welding experience is also advantageous but not necessary) and metal fabrication is essential.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work accurately to specification.
- Experience using fabrication equipment, hand tools and workshop machinery safely.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing positively as part of a small team.
- A reliable, proactive attitude and a willingness to get involved in a variety of workshop tasks.
- A desire to develop new skills and grow with the business.
Training will be provided in Fuscina's specialist manufacturing processes, including powder coating, timber finishing, and rope and net production. Welding and fabrication experience is essential for this role.
Desirable Skills
While not essential, experience in any of the following would be an advantage:
- Powder coating.
- Timber finishing or woodworking.
- Furniture or architectural metalwork.
- Forklift licence.
- Experience discussing technical requirements with customers.
Why Join Fuscina?
We are a growing, family-run manufacturing business where your contribution genuinely matters. This isn't a role where you'll spend every day producing the same item on a production line. You'll work on a wide variety of products, learn new skills across fabrication, finishing and manufacturing, and have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as you develop within the business.
We believe in investing in our people and supporting those who are keen to learn, develop and take pride in producing quality products.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary of £28,000–£35,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Training in our specialist manufacturing processes.
- A varied and interesting role where no two days are the same.
- Friendly, supportive workshop environment.
- The opportunity to develop skills across powder coating, timber finishing and specialist manufacturing.
- Long-term career prospects within a growing business.
If you're looking for more than just another welding job and want to be part of a business where your skills, ideas and work ethic will make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
