Grounded is proud to be running the Ebbsfleet Garden City Trust's first community building (Weldon Heart) - a hireable community space with a cafe. And we’re looking for warm, reliable people to join our team.
The Role
As the Catering Lead & Community Cafe Team Member, you’ll be the driving force of our kitchen service, serving high-quality food in a welcoming environment. You’ll help keep the café running smoothly day to day. Because the cafe is part of the wider Community Centre, you’ll also support events by helping set up or pack down chairs/tables and making sure the centre feels welcoming for everyone.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing weekly stock ordering, organisation and disposal
- Preparing and serving food to order (pastries, sandwiches, light meals)
- Leading on delivery for catering orders
- Input ideas for menu items & streamline our offering
- Keeping the café clean, safe, and well-stocked
- Offering friendly, helpful customer service
- Following food hygiene and allergen standards
Hours & Shifts
- Café opening hours: Monday–Sunday, 8:00am–4:00pm
- Hours: Part-time (16-20 hours)
- Typical shifts: 5–8 hours, scheduled between 7:00am–5:00pm
- Requirements: You will be required to work at weekends as well ad-hoc hours when delivering on catering orders, please consider this before applying. We can discuss availability in your interview.
