We're currently looking for a qualified Light Commercial Vehicle Technician to join our busy Workshop in Worthing. You don’t need previous Mercedes-Benz experience to join us.
About the Role
Hours: 45 hours per week plus 1-in-4 Saturdays
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 6:30am – 4:00pm (30-minute unpaid lunch) Saturdays (as per rota), 7:00am – 12:00 Midday
You’ll be responsible for carrying out inspections, servicing, maintenance and repairs on commercial vehicles, working to high standards of safety, quality and workmanship.
As a Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Dealer, you’ll receive manufacturer training and have a clear career pathway, with opportunities to develop your technical skills and progress from Maintenance Technician through to Systems Technician and Diagnostic Technician.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, inspections, maintenance and repairs on light commercial vehicles
- Diagnose and rectify vehicle faults in line with your level of experience and training
- Repair, replace and install vehicle components in line with manufacturer standards
- Carry out vehicle inspections and identify any additional work required
- Complete all work efficiently, accurately and to a high standard
- Ensure job cards and relevant documentation are completed accurately
- Carry out vehicle checks and road tests where required
- Work in accordance with Mercedes-Benz manufacturer procedures and Company standards
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment, following all Health & Safety requirements
- Work effectively as part of the workshop team to help meet productivity and customer service standards
About You
To be successful in this role you will:
Essential
- Be a qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician to City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Take pride in producing high-quality work
- Be reliable, responsible and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Have a good understanding of workshop health and safety requirements
- Hold a full UK driving licence
Desirable
- At least 1 year’s Commercial vehicle dealership experience.
- Previous Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle experience would be an advantage.
