Optical Assistant to join our team.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our optical practice, ensuring that patients receive exceptional service and that sales targets are met.
Full time/Part time positions available.
For those to whom it applies, conversion into an OA / Pre-Reg position will be considered.
Who should apply?
- People who are well-presented and energised by working in a lively retail environment, greeting and engaging with customers and members of the public
- Comfortable learning new skills quickly (training provided) and following in store processes efficiently and accurately to ensure smooth operation of the store
- Contributing to the stores success by being proactive, enthusiastic, results driven and hitting daily sales targets
- Previous experience working in an optometry or optical setting is beneficial but not required
What will you be doing?
- Training will be provided
- This role includes canvassing and speaking to members of the public about the services we provide. We are looking for confident, outgoing individuals with a bubbly personality, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. You should be comfortable approaching and engaging with people, promoting our services, and acting as a positive ambassador for the practice.
- Providing exceptional customer service to all patients
- Understand and implement NHS eye examination and spectacle eligibility
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment each morning for patient visits
- Ensure premises and clean and tidy at the end of each day
- Assist with frame selection for all patients, dispensing spectacle lenses (single vision, bifocals, varifocals) and spectacle collections
- Reiterate optometrist recommendations for various spectacle coatings and lens options to patients, including the benefits of each.
- Be able to resolve any patient queries or issues efficiently according to store protocols
- Maintain inventory of optical supplies and order new materials as needed
- Ensure customers are informed when their spectacles are ready to collect
- Adjust and repair spectacles where possible
Pay: £10.00-£12.71 per hour
