Treflan Surgery is a friendly and professional GP surgery committed to providing high-quality care to our patients. We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Heathcare Navigator to join our busy front-of-house team.
Role Overview
As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. You will provide excellent customer service, handle confidential information and support both patients and clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and visitors to the surgery in a courteous and professional manner
- Answering telephone calls and responding to patient enquiries
- Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments
- Registering new patients and updating patient records
- Processing repeat prescription requests
- Scanning, filing, and handling correspondence
- Managing incoming and outgoing post
- Liaising with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintaining confidentiality and complying with GDPR and NHS policies
Essential Skills and Experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Professional, empathetic, and calm under pressure
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements
- Welsh speaker
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a GP surgery, healthcare, or NHS setting
- Knowledge of clinical systems such as EMIS Web, SystmOne, or Vision
- Understanding of medical terminology
