Overview
Observe Care Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate healthcare assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care and supporting individuals in maintaining their independence and well-being. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients, whether in a care home setting or through home care services. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills, reliability and a proactive approach to caregiving and must have their own car with a confirmed DRIVING LICENCE.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and dignity.
- Support the development and implementation of personalised care plans tailored to each individual’s needs and preferences.
- Administer medication and basic health checks under supervision, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, observations, and any changes in patient condition using IT systems.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care delivery.
- Drive between different care locations or patients’ homes as required for home care assignments.
- Promote a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations, infection control procedures, and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of care plans, medication administration, and basic health assessments.
- Strong driving skills with a valid driver’s licence for transportation between care settings or homes.
- Proficiency in using IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to healthcare environments.
