This is a varied role combining kitchen operations, customer service, event bookings, and administration. The position is contracted at 24 hours per week and works on a 7-day rota basis. While some weekend working is required, this is typically expected to be no more than every other weekend, with most shifts taking place during the week. We are committed to offering flexibility where possible to support both the needs of the service and our employees.
You will prepare and serve food and drinks in line with food hygiene and safety standards, handle cash and card transactions, maintain stock levels, and support the cleanliness and presentation of the café. You will also be the first point of contact for customer enquiries and event bookings, responding professionally by phone, email, and in person. Alongside this, you will undertake a range of administrative tasks including ordering supplies, maintaining records, processing bookings, and supporting the smooth operation of café and event activities.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. You will have excellent communication skills and be confident interacting with a wide range of customers, colleagues, and visitors.
You will be equally comfortable preparing food and drinks, delivering outstanding customer service, and managing administrative tasks with accuracy and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be proactive, dependable, and able to work independently whilst contributing positively to the wider team. Experience in catering, hospitality, customer service, or administration would be beneficial, along with good IT skills and a flexible approach to working hours. Above all, you will share our commitment to providing excellent service and creating a positive experience for everyone who visits the Coppice Café.
What's in it for you?
We pride ourselves on our friendliness and being a good employer with a range of benefits and employment terms and conditions to suit you. A competitive salary and annual leave entitlement, flexible working, a generous employer pension contribution scheme, work life balance policies, and support for your personal development are just some of the benefits we offer.
