Durham County Council is seeking a Hosting and Security Manager to lead a highly skilled team responsible for the councils hosting, cloud, infrastructure and security services. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of a large and complex IT environment, ensuring the services that support thousands of staff, residents, schools and partner organisations remain secure, resilient and available whenever they are needed.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
As Hosting and Security Manager, you will lead the delivery of operational hosting and cyber security services across a diverse technology estate spanning datacentres, cloud platforms, storage, backup, virtualisation and Microsoft 365 technologies. You will be responsible for driving service excellence, strengthening cyber resilience, managing major technical change programmes, and ensuring robust governance, risk management and compliance arrangements are in place. Working closely with senior stakeholders, suppliers and customers, you will influence strategic direction while maintaining a strong focus on operational stability, business continuity and continual service improvement.

You will have experience leading infrastructure and security teams, managing complex operational services, and delivering successful transformation in fast-paced environments. WHAT WILL I NEED?
You should be Educated to degree level or equivalent in an ICT, technical or business related discipline and have a Higher Management or professional qualification.
