As a Waterfield's Senior sales assistant, you are expected to work with the shop manager to manage the team to maximise sales through effective stock ordering, merchandising, and providing exceptional standards of customer service. We provide our customers with great tasting quality savouries, sandwiches, bread, and confectionery goods. All served in a friendly environment in a variety of locations from towns to villages across the Northwest where exceptional customer service is the norm not the exception.
We are searching for the right person to join our company as a Senior sales assistant in our shop based in Walmesley Road St Helens . You must be passionate about our products with excellent communication skills & the ability to work with the shop manager to lead, motivate and develop your team to deliver exceptional customer service in order to achieve the required business results.
A working knowledge of food safety and health & safety legislation is essential, as is a background in retail , (ideally food retail) crucially you will be adept at spotting commercial opportunities and reacting to the needs of your customers.
This role will particularly appeal to an ambitious sales assistant looking for the next step in their career, additional training will be provided.
Key responsibilities include:
· Full operational responsibilities for managing the store operations in the absence of a shop manager on a day-to-day basis.
· Driving sales through product availability.
· Delivery of exceptional customer service.
· Ensuring compliance with health & safety and food safety legislation.
· Hands on training and development of your team.
· Create a fun environment with a good working culture.
· The ability to work in a pressurised environment and to “think on your feet”.
· A self-motivated confident individual with a can-do attitude.
· Excellent time management and organisational skills.
· 26 Hours per week over 5 days between Monday to Sunday 8am – 4.15pm with flexibility depending on the needs of the business.
· Competitive rate of pay a basic starting salary of £13.01/ £13.97 per hour
