We are seeking a full-time, reliable, hard working Kitchen Porter to support our team, with responsibility for maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment. Previous experience in food preparation or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. However, candidates must not be phased by the physical demands of working in a hot, busy commercial kitchen. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality industry.
Duties
- Washing crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils.
- Assisting chefs with basic food preparation tasks.
- Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen prep areas, surfaces and equipment.
- Ensuring the kitchen remains tidy and clean throughout service.
- Regular cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen grease trap.
- Supporting and facilitating front of house teams.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality is advantageous, but not essential.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills with attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks within the kitchen environment.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and good attendance record are essential.
Hours/Job share
- Approximately 30 hours per week across 5 days (Monday to Friday).
- Flexibility and willingness to provide occasional cover during holiday and other absences is essential (including weekends)
