We are looking for a Temporary Domestic Assistant to cover sick leave and holidays for the period to 31st August 2026. The position is for 4 days per week (totalling 20 hours per week) and may include some weekend work.
This is for an immediate start (subject to satisfactory references, Right to work and DBS, please indicate if you have a DBS on a rolling basis) as we have a need for cover over the Summer. Please note that we don't provide visa sponsorship

Position: Temporary Domestic Assistant
Reporting To: Head of Care / Domestic Supervisor
Overall Objective:
To contribute to the provision of a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents, visitors and staff by providing domestic services that ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Purpose of Position
· To assist with the cleaning of the home as directed by the Head of Care / Domestic Supervisor and as specified in a weekly cleaning schedule to ensure that the home always meets high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with the Home’s prevention and control of infections policy. This will usually include:
- Regular cleaning of residents' rooms
- Regular cleaning of dining room, lounge and hallways, other communal areas and office areas
- Regular cleaning of staff room and staff kitchen, including fridge, microwave and surrounding work surfaces
- Damp dusting, mopping floors and vacuuming as necessary
- Regular cleaning of bathrooms and toilets including scrubbing and de-scaling baths and tiles, clearing plug-holes and taps, de-scaling shower heads, removing soap and cleaning around light switches and door handles etc
- Occasional cleaning of doors, windows and other areas as required
- Occasional cleaning of spillages as required.
· To maintain cleaning equipment, including keeping cleaning equipment clean and informing the Domestic Supervisor when equipment or stocks require replacement.
· To ensure that cleaning materials, chemicals and substances are properly and safely used and stored at all times.
· To establish and maintain good working relationships with staff and residents.
· To ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
· To adhere to and promote the Homes’ policies and procedures with regard to Infection Control.
· To report immediately any incident of ill-treatment, verbal, physical or mental, to the Care Home Director / Head of Care.
· To report any complaint made by residents, or on their behalf by relatives or friends, to the Care Home Director / Head of Care.

Essential qualities:
· No formal qualifications required.
· Knowledge of client group.
· Experience and demonstrated ability to carry out a wide range of tasks associated with domestic duties to a high standard.
· Ability to prioritise workload.
· Ability to follow instructions regarding COSHH/infection control matters.
· Friendly, helpful, courteous and caring attitude.
· Flexible to the needs of residents.
· A safe and practical approach to work.
· Good timekeeping.
· Willingness to attend training regarding health and safety/infection control matters.
