Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Cleaning Area Manager to lead and oversee cleaning operations within designated areas. Salisbury is only the central advertising location and the actual working area covers the A3/M40 corridor, M5 down to Taunton and across the South Coast. This energetic leader will ensure that cleanliness standards are consistently met, safety protocols are followed, and team members are motivated to deliver exceptional service. As a pivotal part of our management team, you will drive operational excellence, foster a positive work environment, and uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety across your assigned area. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate multi-site cleaning activities, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to quality standards
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of cleaning staff, providing clear direction and support for their professional development
- Develop work schedules, assign duties, and monitor performance to optimize productivity and service quality
- Conduct regular inspections to verify cleanliness, safety compliance, and equipment maintenance across the area
- Lead, support and hold accountable site managers and supervisors, setting clear expectations and ensuring that operational objectives are understood and achieved.
- Ensure each contract is appropriately resourced, with effective workforce planning, recruitment, retention, succession planning and contingency arrangements in place
- Monitor contract performance against budgets, labour targets, productivity measures and agreed financial objectives, taking corrective action where required.
- Review management information, payroll data, rotas, overtime, agency usage and other operational costs to ensure accuracy, control and value for money.
- Address customer or client concerns promptly, resolving issues with professionalism and a solution-focused attitude
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, safety incidents, and staff performance to ensure accountability and continuous improvement
- Recruit, induct, develop and manage the performance of managers, supervisors and operational employees in accordance with Cirka payroll and HR procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, enhance service delivery, retain existing business and support the growth or expansion of contracts within the area.
- Participate in mobilisation, transition and change projects, ensuring that new or amended services are implemented safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to the client.
Skills
- Proven supervising experience in cleaning or facilities management roles
- Strong management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively
- Demonstrated leadership qualities that inspire teamwork, accountability, and high performance
- Proven client relationship management skills, including the ability to resolve operational issues, manage expectations and communicate confidently at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills for clear instruction, feedback, and conflict resolution
- Good written and numerical skills, together with competence in Microsoft Office and online workforce, auditing and document management systems.
- Ability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence and the ability to travel regularly across the assigned area.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to cleaning operations and equipment use
- Flexibility to adapt schedules as needed to meet operational demands
Desirable
IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.
Experience of working within an ISO-accredited quality, environmental and health and safety management framework.

Pay: £32,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
