About Us
Chance Residential Services provides high-quality support to children, young people, and families across our Family Assessment Centre and Children's Home in Southeast London.
Our Family Assessment Centre supports parents and children through assessments and interventions, while our Children's Home provides a safe, nurturing environment for young people aged 8–16 who have experienced trauma, neglect, or emotional and behavioural difficulties.
The Role
We are looking for caring, reliable, and motivated Family Support Practitioners / Support Workers to join our team.
Successful candidates may work across either our Family Assessment Centre or Children's Home, supporting children, young people, and families to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and families.
- Provide emotional and practical support.
- Support parenting assessments and family interventions.
- Build positive relationships with children, young people, and parents.
- Encourage independence, wellbeing, and personal development.
- Complete accurate records, reports, and daily logs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals.
- Promote a safe, clean, and nurturing environment.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children, young people, or families.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Compassionate, resilient, and professional approach.
- Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care/Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards one).
Desirable
- Experience in a Family Assessment Centre or Children's Residential Home.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience in an Ofsted-regulated setting.
