Job Overview
We are a local, long-established garage looking for a tyre fitter for our busy tyre bay. Please note this is not a trainee position and experience is essential.
Duties
- Fitting & Balancing: Removing, balancing, and fitting tyres to a high standard to cars and light commercial vehicles.
- Puncture Repairs: Assessing tyre damage and carrying out safe, high-quality puncture repairs.
- TPMS & Diagnostics: Testing and replacing Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors, including using specialised diagnostic programming equipment to code them.
- Bay & Queue Management: Managing the flow of vehicles entering the busy bay to keep the work moving efficiently.
- Customer Interaction: Greeting customers face-to-face and keeping them updated on timings.
- Stock Control: Conducting regular tyre stock checks, monitoring inventory levels, and organising incoming deliveries in the bay.
- Paperwork: Accurately filling out workshop job sheets and stock control logs.
- Workshop Safety: Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workspace and operating all commercial machinery in accordance with safety rules.
What You Must Bring
- Experience: Proven workshop experience in tyre fitting and running a busy bay is essential.
- Reliability: Punctual timekeeping, excellent attendance, and a strong work ethic are essential.
- Licence: A full UK driving licence is essential.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £28,750.00-£33,000.00 per year
