The Role
As a CNC Punch Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating advanced CNC punching equipment to manufacture components to exact specifications. You will play a key role in ensuring productivity, quality, and efficiency within the production process.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate high-value CNC punching machinery.
- Select, install, and adjust tooling for production runs.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
- Carry out quality inspections and dimensional checks on finished components.
- Troubleshoot machine and tooling issues to minimise downtime.
- Manage workload effectively to keep production flowing efficiently.
- Handle materials safely and maintain accurate work processes.
- Segregate and dispose of scrap steel in designated recycling bins.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Previous experience operating CNC punch, sheet metal, or similar manufacturing machinery.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, proactive, and safety-conscious approach to work.
Desirable
- Experience with CNC programming or machine setup.
- Forklift truck licence.
- Experience within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
- Knowledge of quality inspection and measurement equipment.
