Due to the upcoming retirement of a long-standing and valued colleague, we have a fantastic opportunity for a confident, organised and hard-working individual to be part of the patent process and to provide comprehensive and proactive support to the chairman.
The role
This exciting role involves maintaining and supporting IP cases by preparing documentation for UK, European and International applications, monitoring workloads and deadlines within the process, and acting as a point of contact for enquiries. Alongside supporting the intellectual property process, you will also provide dedicated support to the Chairman.
What you'll be doing
- Providing administrative support for IP cases by maintaining formalities records, monitoring case requirements, and sourcing information from intellectual property office databases and official records systems

Preparation of patent, design and trademark matters, and monitoring the formalities processes for filing UK, European, International (PCT) and other applications

Recording official fees and service charges within the billing system

Undertaking ad hoc research

Acting as a point of contact for queries, handling calls and other enquiries.

Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence regarding IP cases

Monitoring IP deadlines and workloads on a daily/weekly basis, flagging or actioning items as needed

Managing appointments and taking full ownership of the Chairmans diary, which includes looking after travel arrangements and managing visitors/meetings
- Assisting the Chairman with personal matters when they arise
Who you are
To be considered for an interview you must have:
- good IT skills such as typing and Microsoft office including Word, Excel and Outlook

While knowledge of patent, trademark and design cases is desirable it is not essential as training and development will be provided.
