Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. Duties
- Operate flatbed lorries and other HGV vehicles in compliance with all legal and safety regulations
- Deliver goods to specified destinations, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any issues or defects
- Secure loads properly to prevent movement during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Adhere to all driving hours regulations and company policies to ensure safety at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving licence for HGV Class 1 vehicles
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure load handling
- Excellent organisational skills to manage schedules efficiently
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail
