Part time weekend chef
We are looking for a skilled chef to join our busy family run tea rooms In the New Forest.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a very busy tearooms, ensuring all food safety standards are met.
The ideal candidate must have previous kitchen experience and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service to our guests.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, marinating, and assembling ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations throughout shifts
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are consistently adhered to
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or replenishment needs to management
- Work with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times, including proper handling and storage of food products
- Assist with plating dishes attractively and efficiently for service
Experience
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen or restaurant environment is necessary
- knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous experience in meal preparation and serving is necessary
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy setting and to be able to work alone
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality
