We're looking for a reliable and practical Maintenance Assistant to join our team at St Gwynllyw an Adult Day Service.

As our Maintenance Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring our building, grounds, and facilities remain safe, clean, and well maintained for the people we support, our staff, and visitors.

Your Responsibilities:
- Positive communication with service managers, meeting with them regularly to understand their priorities and to outline progress with works currently being undertaken and those planned.
- Ensure great standards and that all services are maintained to a high standard. Working independently or alongside your team complete general maintenance, decoration and grounds maintenance activities that are from time to time required, including minor electrical and plumbing works.
- Liaise and support the project team as required.
- All work is completed safely and that the process for Risk assessments is followed at all times.
- Oversee the works undertaken by both your own works and external contractors, ensuring safe working and excellent quality.
Support the statutory compliance program administered by the Property Support Hub, meeting contractors and service managers to resolve significant issues.
Seek technical or specialist support where required, to ensure that works are conducted in conjunction with statutory standards and best practice.
Support energy reduction activity.
- Be willing to provide out of hours cover through an on-call rota.
- Keep up to date with company policies and procedures.
- Make judgements and escalate when maintenance activity, or a particular situation has arisen that requires the attention of a more appropriate person.
Skills and experience:
- Previous experience of working in maintenance , or similar.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise effectively.
- Good technical knowledge and understanding of when and how to seek specialist expertise.
- Satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
