A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Borough of Tower Hamlets is looking to appoint one or two SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team for the new academic year.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting children with additional needs, particularly pupils who are at the early stages of communication, have ASD, and may at times become dysregulated. You will work closely with class teachers and the wider SEN team to provide tailored support on a 1:1 and small group basis.

JOB DESCRIPTION – SEN Teaching Assistant
- SEN Teaching Assistant
- Supporting pupils with SEN, including children with ASD and communication needs
- Working on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Supporting pupils who may become dysregulated and helping them to access learning
- Working across KS1 and KS2 depending on experience and strengths
- Working alongside an experienced and supportive SEND team
- After Easter start
- Long Term & Full Time
- £95 - £115 per day, term time only
- Located in the Borough of Tower Hamlets
- Position until the end of the academic year, with potential to be extended

PERSON SPECIFICATION – SEND Teaching Assistant
- A degree from a reputable university is desirable
- Experience supporting children with SEN would be highly beneficial
- Experience working with pupils who are at the early stages of communication, have ASD, or may become dysregulated is particularly advantageous
- Graduates aspiring to become teachers are encouraged to apply
- Patient, calm and nurturing approach
- Passionate about supporting every child to reach their full potential
- Able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
- Resilient, reliable and committed
- Proactive and able to use initiative both in and out of the classroom
- Confident, positive and adaptable
- Willing to learn and undertake additional SEND training
- Must hold a registered DBS or be willing to apply for one immediately
