Phillimore Community Primary School has two exciting opportunities for enthusiastic, caring and proactive Level 3 Teaching Assistants, who have experience working within a Foundation Unit. You will be working with an experienced team supporting children with a diverse range of needs in our Nursery, playing a vital role in creating a nurturing and stimulating leaning environment.
We are part of Sheffield South East Trust (SSET), which was formed in 2016 and unites seven local primary schools. The schools within the Trust work closely together for the benefit of the children and communities they serve. There are many opportunities for support, training and networking between the schools
Salary: Grade 4 £26,403 - £28,598 pro rata.
You will have experience of working within early years and will be working with an experienced, warm and welcoming team supporting children with a diverse range of needs in our Nursery, playing a vital role in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
Our pupils are well behaved, friendly and positive about their learning and we have a team of hard-working and supportive staff. The school is a large and friendly school within the community of Darnall.
We need someone who;
· Has a relevant and recognised Level 3 Early Years Qualification https://www.gov.uk/guidance/early-years-qualifications-finder
· Has up to date and secure knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
· Has a commitment to developing and maximising the potential of our pupils.
· Has experience of using effective strategies to support children with special education needs and children with communication and language needs.
· Has good organisational and interpersonal skills- fully responsive and flexible to the day-to-day challenges in nursery.
· Will lead small group activities under the direction of the class teacher and use a range of strategies to support all children in their learning
· Has excellent literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
· Will champion phonics and a love of listening to stories and nursery rhymes.
· Will contribute to the learning environment by planning and setting up engaging and appropriate activities.
· Will take on the role of a key person and provide care and support for their specific group of key children.
· Will liaise with and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and parents and other professionals.
· Can model high standards and have high aspirations for our children.
· Can create a happy and welcoming atmosphere.
· Will communicate with parents and develop strong, positive relationships with them.
· Will provide first aid and toileting support when required.
· Will work with colleagues and leaders to contribute to whole school development.
· Have a good level of IT skills for recording observations and incidents, using ClassDojo and CPOMS.
