The Opportunity
An established roofing contractor is seeking an experienced Roofing Surveyor & Estimator to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong roofing knowledge who enjoys dealing with customers, surveying projects and producing quotations, whilst also being involved in larger commercial tenders and business development.
The role offers a clear route into senior management for the right candidate, with the opportunity to progress into Head of Domestic Operations within 2–3 years.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for surveying roofing projects, preparing quotations and assisting with commercial tenders.
The role is split between site visits and office-based work.
Duties Include
● Attending domestic and commercial roofing surveys
● Measuring roofs and assessing required works
● Producing detailed quotations
● Preparing estimates and tender submissions
● Following up quotations and converting opportunities into sales
● Liaising with clients, architects and managing agents
● Assisting with project handovers to operations teams
● Identifying opportunities for additional works
● Supporting business growth and key client relationships
● Maintaining accurate records using company systems
Requirements
Essential
● Minimum 5 years roofing industry experience
● Strong knowledge of pitched and flat roofing systems
● Good understanding of leadwork and associated roofing details
● Ability to identify roofing defects and specify remedial works
● Full UK driving licence
● Strong communication skills
● Good computer literacy
● Ability to work independently
Desirable
● Estimating experience
● Experience with commercial roofing projects
● Experience preparing tenders
● Knowledge of heritage and listed buildings
● Knowledge of roofing software and digital measuring tools
