About us
Norelo is a measured building survey / geospatial survey company delivering high-quality survey data to architects, engineers and contractors across the UK and Ireland. We capture buildings and sites using 3D laser scanning and turn that data into accurate, client-ready drawings. We’re growing our drawing office and looking for a CAD technician to join the team.
The role
You’ll produce 2D measured drawings from registered point cloud data, working at a desk, turning scan data into the deliverables our clients rely on. Day to day you will:
- Produce accurate 2D CAD drawings from point cloud data, floor plans, sections, elevations and roof plans
- Work directly from registered point clouds to trace and detail building geometry
- Produce drawings to our CAD standards and to the relevant survey specification (e.g. RICS measured survey spec)
- Manage layering, line weights, title blocks and revision control consistently across projects
- Carry out QA checks on your own output and flag discrepancies in the data
- Liaise with surveyors and project leads to deliver drawings on time and to brief
- May be required to assist on site with 3D laser scanning when required
What we’re looking for (essential)
- Proven experience producing 2D measured/as-built drawings in AutoCAD / BricsCAD
- Confident working from point cloud data (e.g. via FARO Scene, Leica Cyclone/Register360, CloudWorx, Autodesk ReCap or PointCab)
- Strong understanding of plans, sections and elevations, and how buildings are constructed
- High attention to detail and good drawing discipline (layers, standards, revisions)
- Able to manage your own workload and hit deadlines
Desirable
- Experience with Revit for scan-to-BIM / measured building modelling
- Familiarity with .E57 and ReCap (.rcp/.rcs) file formats, and Navisworks
- A background as an architectural technician/technologist
- Awareness of the RICS measured survey specification
- BTEC/HNC in construction, surveying or architectural technology (or equivalent experience)

- £30,000–£38,000 salary, reviewed annually
- 20 days holiday + bank holiday
- Funded training, CPD and clear progression
- Hybrid working / flexible hours
