You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines, preparing materials and tooling for upcoming jobs, and producing high-quality precision components to meet customer specifications.
The role will involve operating up to 5-axis machinery, managing Fanuc controls, making programme adjustments where required, and carrying out in-process inspections to ensure components are manufactured accurately and to the highest standards. Strong attention to detail, technical ability, and a commitment to quality are essential.
Responsibilities
- Set and operate up to 5-axis CNC milling machines, including managing Fanuc controls and modifying programmes to suit materials, tooling, and machine conditions
- Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing information to produce accurate components
- Carry out in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment, complete production documentation, and ensure parts meet quality requirements
- Support efficient workshop operations through basic machine maintenance, component finishing, deburring, and participation in continuous improvement activities
Requirements
- Time-served CNC apprenticeship or equivalent experience, ideally with 3+ years' experience in a similar precision manufacturing environment
- Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines, with knowledge of Fanuc controls and programme editing
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical drawings and use a range of precision measuring equipment
- Reliable team player with good written and verbal communication skills, general PC literacy, and the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet production deadlines
