Operations & Sales Manager – Fire Suppression Systems
We are looking for a high‑energy Operations & Sales Manager with a strong commercial mindset to accelerate our growth in the Fire Suppression sector. This role blends strategic sales leadership with hands‑on project delivery, giving you full ownership of converting enquiries into profitable projects while ensuring high-quality execution from design through to installation.
Your ability to influence clients, produce competitive proposals, and deliver exceptional service will directly shape our market position and drive sustained revenue growth. You’ll be the face of our fire suppression solutions — building trust, winning business, and ensuring every project reinforces our reputation for safety, quality, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Sales & Marketing Leadership — Drive new business opportunities, expand our client base, and actively support our positioning of our fire suppression systems as the preferred industry solution.
- Quotation Development — Review customer drawings and collaborate with specialist designers to produce accurate, competitive, and commercially competitive quotations for dry riser installations.
- Client Relationship Management — Lead proactive follow‑ups, negotiate terms, and maintain strong relationships with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to secure orders and maximise conversion rates.
- Project Coordination — Oversee installation activities with subcontractors and internal engineering teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification.
- End‑to‑End Project Ownership — Manage the full project lifecycle from enquiry to completion, ensuring contractual, technical, and quality requirements are met.
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement — Maintain clear communication with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Documentation & Certification — Prepare installation records, commissioning documentation, and certification in line with British Standards and regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement — Identify opportunities to enhance design quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Procurement Oversight — Source materials and equipment that meet quality standards while supporting project profitability.
Skills & Experience
- Strong sales and marketing capability with a proven ability to convert enquiries into projects.
- Proficiency in project scheduling and resource management.
- Solid understanding of fire suppression design principles and compliance with BS9990:2015.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the fire suppression industry.
- Excellent time management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- A proactive, solutions‑driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Experience in operations management, including scheduling, resource coordination, and process improvement within a construction, fire safety, or building services environment.
- Proven sales or account management experience, with skills in customer relationship building, preparing quotations, and following up on leads and tenders.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, including use of business software (e.g., CRM systems, project management tools, and MS Office).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, site teams, and senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of fire safety systems, building services, or related technical fields is highly beneficial; experience with dry risers, hydrants, or sprinklers is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, make sound decisions, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Relevant vocational qualifications or a degree in business, construction management, engineering, or a related discipline are desirable.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend sites and client meetings as needed.
