The Urban Company is looking for a skilled and detail-focused Industrial Sewing Machinist to join our team in Newry on a part-time basis.
The role will involve using an industrial sewing machine to apply textile edging to bespoke carpet products. Each item is made to individual customer specifications, so accuracy, patience and a consistently high standard of finish are essential.
Key responsibilities:
● Operating an industrial sewing machine
● Sewing textile edging onto carpet products
● Measuring and preparing materials for each order
● Following individual measurements and specifications
● Checking completed products for quality and consistency
● Keeping materials and the work area organised
● Completing orders within agreed timescales
The ideal candidate will:
● Have previous experience using an industrial sewing machine
● Have excellent attention to detail
● Be confident working with heavier materials
● Produce neat, accurate and consistent work
● Be dependable and capable of working independently
● Take pride in producing a high-quality finished product
Experience in industrial sewing, upholstery, carpet binding, curtain making, garment manufacturing or a similar production role would be beneficial.
Training on our specific products and processes will be provided.
