Technical Coordinator – Food Industry

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm

VM Talent Solutions is delighted to be recruiting a Technical Coordinator on behalf of a growing and established business within the food industry.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience within Food Technical or Quality who is looking to develop their career and take on greater responsibility within a varied technical role.
Working closely with the Technical Manager, you will support the day-to-day management of the Quality Management System and help ensure the business continues to meet the requirements of BRCGS Storage & Distribution, SALSA, HACCP and relevant food legislation.
This isn't purely a paperwork-based technical role. You'll work closely with teams across Operations, Manufacturing and Procurement, providing technical support, investigating issues and helping drive a positive food safety culture across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Technical Manager and deputise when required
- Maintain and develop the Quality Management System
- Support compliance with HACCP, BRCGS, SALSA and food legislation
- Manage supplier approvals, product information, specifications and technical documentation
- Carry out and support internal audits across the business
- Investigate technical and quality issues and complete root cause analysis
- Manage corrective and preventative actions
- Monitor technical KPIs, analyse trends and identify opportunities for improvement
- Work closely with Operations, Manufacturing and Procurement to maintain technical standards
- Support testing programmes and compliance records
- Help promote and embed a positive food safety and quality culture
About You
We're looking for someone who combines good technical knowledge with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
You may already be working as a Technical Coordinator, Technologist, Technical Assistant, Technical Technologist and looking for your next step.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience within a technical or quality role in the food industry
- Level 3 HACCP
- Level 3 Food Safety
- Knowledge of food safety management systems and relevant legislation
- Experience supporting or conducting audits
- Experience with QMS, specifications and technical documentation
- An understanding of root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- The confidence to work with and influence colleagues across different departments
- A full UK driving licence
- Flexibility to travel to other sites, including occasional overnight stays
Experience of BRCGS, SALSA and/or Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) would be advantageous.

Pay: £37,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
