We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to deliver engaging English, Maths and/or ESOL learning programmes within a custodial environment. You will support residents to develop essential skills, achieve recognised qualifications, and improve their opportunities for employment and successful reintegration into society.
- Deliver and develop Functional Skills, Literacy, Numeracy and/or ESOL programmes.
- Assess learners' abilities and create supportive learning pathways.
- Promote education opportunities and maximise learner engagement and achievement.
- Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor attendance, progress and achievement, implementing improvements where needed.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required administration.
- Work collaboratively with education teams, operational staff and external partners.
- A relevant qualification in English, Maths, ESOL, Functional Skills, TESOL or TEFL.
- Teaching experience delivering Functional Skills or adult learning programmes.
- Strong communication, organisation and IT skills.
- A positive, adaptable and learner-focused approach.
- Experience working within a custodial or secure environment is desirable.
