The Hangar is a modern, craft beer and cocktail bar in Welling, Kent, offering a range of premium beers and cocktails.

We’re looking for a confident, reliable and hands-on Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of The Hangar Welling.
This is a role for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of a venue, enjoys working with customers and can be trusted to keep everything running smoothly.
For much of the week, you’ll be working independently, so we’re looking for someone who is organised, dependable and confident making decisions. Additional team members will normally be working on Fridays and Saturdays, and when events or parties are booked.
The position is available for an immediate start.
Working Hours
Your normal working hours will be:
- Wednesday: 16:45–21:45
- Thursday: 15:45–21:45
- Friday: 14:45–23:15
- Saturday: 13:45–23:15
- Sunday: 13:45–20:15
Approximately 36 hours per week.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the smooth operation of the venue during your shifts, including:
- Opening and closing the venue
- Serving customers and providing a friendly, welcoming experience
- Preparing and serving drinks to a high standard
- Managing the venue independently during quieter shifts
- Supervising additional team members on busier evenings
- Helping manage parties, events and bookings
- Handling customer enquiries and resolving any issues that arise
- Taking payments and completing end-of-day procedures
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Monitoring stock and reporting shortages
- Ensuring licensing, health & safety and company procedures are followed
- Taking responsibility for the security of the premises
- Keeping the owners informed of any operational, staffing or maintenance issues
This is a genuinely hands-on role. You’ll be serving customers and working behind the bar as well as taking responsibility for the overall running of the venue.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, confident and naturally good with people
- Reliable and comfortable taking responsibility
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Organised and able to stay calm during busy periods
- Happy to get stuck in and lead by example
- Comfortable supervising other members of the team
- Experienced in hospitality, bars, pubs or a similar customer-facing environment
- Available to work the advertised Wednesday–Sunday schedule
- Available to start immediately
Previous management or supervisory experience would be an advantage, although we’re equally interested in experienced hospitality candidates who are ready to take the next step.
Bonus points for holding a personal licence although we will fund this training for the right candidate
Pay & Benefits
£15.00 per hour, paid weekly.
