This is a development role linked to a 3-year apprenticeship programme , where you will gain a recognised Level 2 Site Carpentry qualification and progress towards Level 3 as your skills develop. You’ll receive structured training, hands-on experience and dedicated mentorship to support you in becoming a fully competent multi-skilled carpenter.
Working across our sites, you will support the maintenance, repair and installation of fixtures and fittings, helping to maintain safe and high-quality environments for patients and staff. While previous experience is not essential, a genuine interest in carpentry, a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are key.

Please note: due to Welsh Government apprenticeship funding criteria , applicants who already hold a degree-level qualification (or higher) will not be eligible for this role.

Provides support in carrying out repairs and planned preventative maintenance across the estate as part of a structured training programme. Works under supervision as well as using developing initiative, gaining practical skills and experience through a mandatory Level 2/3 apprenticeship pathway.
Assists in ensuring hospital services, buildings and grounds are maintained in a safe, operational and compliant condition, contributing to the delivery of high-quality environments for patients, staff and visitors.
This post is a fixed term/secondment for 3 years from start date to meet the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
