We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our established commercial team delivering multiple refurbishment projects within a live operational environment at Birmingham Airport. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile programme alongside an experienced team on complex Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works.
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of MEP works across multiple projects. You will play a key role in maintaining cost control, managing subcontractors, and supporting the delivery of projects within a live airport setting.
- Support the commercial team in managing MEP works across Birmingham Airport projects
- Preparation and processing of subcontractor payment applications and notices
- Raising and managing subcontract orders and purchase orders
- Liaising between accounts and the project team to resolve commercial queries
- Assisting in the compilation of cost reports for internal and external reporting
- Supporting cash flow forecasting activities
- Assisting with the measurement and valuation of works (from site and drawings), including variations and final accounts
- Providing general commercial support to the wider team
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners
- Strong team player with the ability to also work independently
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Hardworking, proactive, and detail-oriented
- Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn and develop
- Previous experience working with an M&E contractor or main contractor
- Experience within live or operational environments (e.g. aviation, healthcare, infrastructure)
- CSCS card training provided
- Support for part-time degree studies
- Ongoing support towards RICS accreditation
