Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team. You must be available to work at our breakfast club session 8am - 9am and after school club session 3pm - 6pm, Monday - Friday during school term time. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children during playtime activities. This role involves supervising children, organising activities, and fostering positive social interactions. The Play Worker will play a vital part in supporting children's development and ensuring their wellbeing in a childcare setting.
Duties
- Supervise children during playtime, ensuring their safety at all times
- Organise and facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development
- Support children in developing their communication skills through interactive play
- Maintain a clean and organised play area, adhering to health and safety standards
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
- Support children with special needs or behavioural challenges as required
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in childcare, nursery or early childhood education settings is highly desirable
- Demonstrated management and leadership skills in supervising groups of children or young people
- Knowledge of childcare practices, early childhood development principles, and childcare setting routines
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Experience working with diverse groups of children and understanding of inclusive practices
