We're looking for a Building Services Design Lead to join our Major Projects team based in Liverpool or London.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our building services design team, overseeing and coordinating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design for large, complex construction projects. You'll act as the central point for technical excellence, team leadership, and client liaison, ensuring sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective design delivery from concept through to construction.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Building Services Design Lead, you'll be working within the Major Projects team, supporting them in delivering coordinated MEP design solutions for high-value projects. Your day to day will include:
- Leading and managing the building services design team, working with Electrical and Mechanical Team Leaders to ensure coordinated solutions
- Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with internal and external clients whilst ensuring quality output and team development
- Overseeing designs and providing technical advice including feasibility studies, multi-stage designs, and condition reports
- Playing an active part in business development, supporting bid submissions, and bringing new business opportunities to the team
- Ensuring delivery of coordinated design solutions to budget and timescale whilst maintaining excellent customer satisfaction
What are we looking for?
This role of Building Services Design Lead is great for you if:
- You're a Chartered Engineer and member of CIBSE or IET, with a Degree in Mechanical Building Services or Electrical Engineering
- You have significant experience managing and driving a multi-discipline technical team with a proven track record of achieving challenging business targets
- You possess excellent communication skills and can translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
- You have experience in applying quality procedures and document control in engineering design
- You're able to pass the BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) requirements
