Kinaxia is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Transport Planner to join our busy transport operation in Norwich. As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our fleet by planning and coordinating collections and deliveries, maximising vehicle utilisation, and maintaining high service standards for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
-
Plan and execute daily collection and delivery schedules using the most efficient and cost-effective methods.

Maximise fleet utilisation by allocating drivers, vehicles and trailers effectively while meeting customer requirements.

Use Transport Management Systems (TMS), customer portals and internal IT systems to manage transport operations efficiently.

Liaise closely with the Workshop to ensure vehicle and trailer availability, incorporating maintenance schedules into operational plans.

Communicate daily transport plans clearly to drivers and the wider transport team to ensure efficient execution.

Manage staffing levels, including agency drivers where required, to ensure customer commitments are consistently met.

Build strong relationships with customers, communicating proactively regarding schedules, delays and operational updates.

Plan and coordinate next-day operations, process customer bookings and provide transport quotations where required.

Support colleagues through cross-training and provide operational cover when necessary.

Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping and comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:

Previous experience in a Transport Planner or similar logistics planning role.

Good knowledge of UK road transport legislation, including:

Driver Hours and Working Time Regulations
-
EU/UK Tachograph Rules

Highway Code
-
Road Transport Regulations
-
Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS).

Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK road network.

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

The ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure.
