We are a dedicated and cohesive Neonatal AHP team delivering high-quality, evidence-based developmental care for babies and their families. We at Leeds Children's have received substantive funding provided by NHS England to enhance our Neonatal and Neurodevelopmental Physiotherapy Service. The successful candidates will be joining an established team of experienced physiotherapists covering the Leeds Neonatal Units and Neurodevelopmental follow up within outpatient and clinic settings, providing highly specialised care to support the management of high-risk babies from preterm to 2 years.
We are looking for Physiotherapists with:
- Significant post registration experience of at least 5 years within Paediatric Physiotherapy.
- Broad experience within the acute Paediatric settings.
The postholder will be responsible for the delivery of Specialist Neonatal Physiotherapy support within the model of Family Integrated Care to infants and families across both Neonatal Units within Leeds Teaching Hospitals. Our Neonatal Unit at Leeds General Infirmary is a busy level three unit, including Surgical, Cardiac and Neurological Specialties. Currently the Neonatal Unit at St James's is a level one unit.
The role will use highly specialist skills to manage their own complex caseload, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team. They will be responsible for providing advanced Neonatal Physiotherapy assessment, advice and interventions with babies who are most at risk of developmental issues in the future, and to support the Neonatal Unit with promoting and delivering family integrated developmental care.
This is an exciting opportunity to further develop and expand our physiotherapy neonatal service. The post holder will work closely with the other Band 7 Physiotherapists in post.
As part of the wider Children's Physiotherapy Team responsibilities, successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the Paediatric Respiratory weekend and out of hours service. There will be training and support opportunities available to ensure competencies. The successful candidate will also be involved in wider leadership and team management of Children's Physiotherapy Services.
