Acharya Mentoring provides support to higher education students receiving Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA). We are seeking compassionate and dedicated tutors & mentors to provide in-person 1:1 study skills support for students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
The Role:
- Deliver tailored 1:1 sessions to support independent learning and study strategies.
- Help students overcome barriers such as organisation, time management, motivation, anxiety, and confidence.
- Maintain records, learning plans, and timesheets.
- Signpost to relevant university or professional services when appropriate.
Essential Requirements:
- Self-employed with UTR number.
- Undergraduate degree AND a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, QTLS, Cert Ed, etc.).
- Comprehensive training in adult autism through the National Autistic Society or Optimum training(or willingness to complete training, subsidised if required).
- Enhanced DBS
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience in higher education or supporting students with Autism.
- Knowledge of assistive technology.
