Retail Manager – Coalville Charity Shop
Redgate Farm Animal Sanctuary is a long‑established rescue centre in Leicestershire, caring for farm animals, domestic pets, wildlife and small animals. Our charity shops provide essential income that supports animal welfare, rehabilitation, rehoming and daily sanctuary operations. The Hinckley shop plays a key role in funding this work, and every sale directly supports the animals at Redgate.
We are seeking a Retail Manager to lead the day‑to‑day running of our Coalville charity shop. The successful candidate will ensure high retail standards, strong income generation, excellent customer service and a positive environment for staff and volunteers. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, shaping a shop’s success and contributing directly to animal welfare through retail performance.
Key Responsibilities: Lead daily shop operations, ensuring excellent customer service and strong retail standards.
- Drive sales, manage stock rotation and maintain attractive merchandising.
- Recruit, support and motivate volunteers; plan rotas and ensure adequate cover.
- Maintain health and safety, safeguarding awareness, GDPR compliance and cash‑handling procedures.
- Build positive relationships with donors, customers and the local community.
- Provide weekly updates on takings, stock, staffing and operational issues.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in charity retail or high‑street retail management.
- Confident leading a team of staff and volunteers.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently.
- Positive, hands‑on approach with excellent customer service.
- Ability to manage busy periods, donations and stock flow.
- Comfortable with basic admin, reporting and communication tools.
Hours and Pay: Full‑time, permanent role.
- Based at our Coalville shop.
- Occasional travel to Redgate Farm (Coalville) for training or meetings.
- Salary aligned with charity retail management roles.
