We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join our growing workshop team. This is a key role responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC machinery to manufacture high-quality stone worktops for both domestic and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stone processing, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Program, set, and operate CNC machinery (including bridge saws and machining centres) for cutting and shaping stone worktops.
- Interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and work orders to ensure accurate production.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure precision and efficiency.
- Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of CNC equipment.
- Inspect finished components to ensure they meet Cambrian Granite’s quality standards.
- Work closely with the fabrication and finishing teams to ensure smooth workflow and production deadlines are met.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment, following all health and safety procedures.
- Safely handle and move stone materials using appropriate lifting equipment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery within the stone worktop or similar industry.
- Strong understanding of CAD/CAM software (Alphacam, Pegasus, ETcam) .
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Experience working with granite, quartz, and porcelain materials is highly desirable.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physically capable of working with heavy materials in a workshop environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and motivated with a positive attitude.
Pay: £26,500.00-£33,280.00 per year
