PHL Have an exciting opportunity for a Dermatology Healthcare Assistant to join the team working within our Dermatology service based in Manchester on a Bank basis.
Under the direction of the Head of Clinical Services who has continuing responsibility, the post holder is responsible for providing and maintaining a high standard of care to patients attending Dermatology Outpatient clinics at all of our sites.
HCA assist in the planning and delivery of care by providing support to qualified staff, patients and their families/carers. This will be achieved through the performance of specific clinical, clerical and domestic tasks. Ensure that patients are properly cared for and clinics run smoothly whist respecting patient confidentiality at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet and greet patients, providing excellent customer service to create a positive and comfortable experience.
- To work with all members of the Dermatology team and other member of the multi disciplinary team to ensure that best practice is provided and maintained.
- Liaise with appropriate departments to ensure that adequate levels of supplies are maintained.
- Communicate with individual and groups of outpatients to advise them of matters arising during a clinic session, for example, waiting times
- Liaise with all users of the service to facilitate a seamless approach to patient care.
- Work with clerical staff to ensure efficient effective management of clinics. The employee shares with the employer the responsibility for suggestions to alter the scope of duties to improve the working situation. To promote a safe working environment by own diligence and ensure all staff are aware of their own areas of responsibility.
- To report any safety hazard to the appropriate authority and take immediate action to make the area safe and remove/ isolate faulty equipment from use.
