Senior SEND Officer
£360 per day
3-6 month initial contract
Hybrid – North London (1 day in office per fortnight)
Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Senior SEND Officer to provide leadership to a team of SEN Case Officers within a North London Local Authority, supporting them with complex SEN casework to ensure the most positive outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum of 12 months working in a Senior SEND Case Officer role for a Local Authority.
- Secure understanding of the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and The Children and Families Act 2014.
- Proven experience of managing complex SEN casework, including EHCPs, EHE, and LAC cases.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Lead and supervise the SEND casework team by providing line management, professional supervision and support to SEND Officers and EHC Coordinators.
- Liaise regularly with families, schools, health professionals, and social care to ensure coordinated support for children and young people with SEND.
- Contribute to service improvement and quality assurance by monitoring casework standards, identifying areas for development and implementing best practices.
Skills required:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to analyse complex information and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations.
- Skilled in providing leadership, performance management and professional guidance to ensure high-quality casework and positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
