We’re looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Retail Sales Assistant to join our busy souvenir store team!
Our stores are at the heart of the visitor experience, welcoming customers from across the UK and around the world. We’re looking for someone who can deliver an excellent customer experience while also being confident in recommending products, driving sales and helping the store achieve its targets.
What will you be doing?
As a Retail Sales Assistant, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day success of the store. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing a warm, friendly and knowledgeable welcome to every customer.
- Delivering excellent customer service and creating a memorable shopping experience.
- Actively engaging with customers and identifying opportunities to increase sales.
- Recommending products and confidently promoting our key ranges.
- Working towards individual and store sales targets.
- Keeping the shop floor fully stocked, tidy and visually appealing.
- Operating the EPOS/till system accurately and efficiently.
- Handling cash and card transactions in line with company procedures.
- Supporting stock deliveries, replenishment and stock checks.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure the store operates smoothly during busy periods.
- Following company policies and procedures, including health & safety and cash-handling procedures.
- Taking initiative and looking for ways to improve the customer experience and store performance.
- Supporting your colleagues and stepping up when the store gets particularly busy.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who is positive, energetic and commercially minded, with a genuine interest in retail and customer service.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous retail experience, preferably in a busy customer-facing environment.
- A proven ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- A sales-driven mindset and confidence in approaching customers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- A proactive approach and the confidence to use your own initiative.
- The ability to remain calm, organised and professional during busy periods.
- Good attention to detail.
- A flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and busy seasonal periods.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
