Overview
We are seeking a skilled Counterbalance Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This role involves operating a counterbalance forklift to efficiently manage materials handling, shipping, and receiving operations within a busy warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with warehouse management systems, and the ability to perform heavy lifting safely. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience looking to contribute to a dynamic logistics operation.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a counterbalance forklift to load, unload, and transport goods throughout the warehouse
- Manage materials handling tasks, ensuring accurate placement and retrieval of stock
- Assist with shipping and receiving duties, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic repairs or troubleshooting as needed
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately
- Support warehouse organisation by maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow efficiency and safety protocols
- Assist in stock counts and inventory management activities
Qualifications
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence or certification recognised in the UK
- Proven experience operating forklifts within a warehouse setting
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic inventory procedures
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of materials handling, shipping & receiving processes
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Basic maths skills for inventory counts and measurements
- Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: £13.00-£25.00 per hour
